We stopped in again at the Labs' to meet the family. Here's an MPEG movie of Alex showing off his tumbling prowess. Warning, this file is > 5MB in size. It's pretty dark but worth seeing.
Next we headed over to Stanwood Lane where I lived. We stopped to say hi to Nick, Mary Beth, and Nancy Pircio's parents, Tony & Mary. I hadn't seen them in 20 years. They looked great. Nick was one of the annoncers on the "Big 12", going by "Komrade K, the Peoples' DJ" on WHY Radio.
I saw the folks who now live at 134 Stanwood Lane (my house) cleaning up the yard. We chatted and next thing we knew we we're getting a tour! It was very special to show Carol my old bedroom (AND where the WHY transmitter was!). They've finished off the basement and it looks great.

Next, we headed up Sweet Road, about 4 miles south and 800 ft higher to Mt. Sevier in Pompey. I used to come up here and bother the Channel 9 engineers. This time, I got this beautiful shot.
We finally hit Rt 20 and headed East towards Cazenovvia. We had a beautiful view of Central NY weather from Pompey Center
Here's where we really started to see some color.

When we left the next afternoon we were treated to more beautiful Fall hues all the way down Rt 81 to Vestal. Yes, I shudda stopped and grabbed a few more shots but we were running late.
On the next page you'll see how our timing was serendipitous for the sunset and its beautiful light on the woods on the outskirts of Manlius.
