Phil's Home Page

I've turned our Family Home Page into the Base Page for all 3 of us. From there you can visit Kat's site or Carol's Bazaar of Books or Phil's Conglomeration of Junk , for which this is the home page. You can also see info common to our family, like pix of our EXTENDED families, vacations, & typical family stuff.

I hope to start collecting useful info here. Stuff like technology, consumer facts and caveats, and personal opinions and peeves (and I've got a few...). Please stop back from time to time to see what's changed. I'll also be playing w/ HTML (incl Frames), JavaScript, graphics, & other stuff, as a learning experience, so it will always be a site in transition.

My Back Pages started as a site about our trip back East and now has more stuff from my younger days, including The Big 12, WHY Radio and the infamous BallRoom.

My Business: Giant Step Communications

My Christmas List: OK, I know it looks awfully vain, but you never know, and it got me a Yaesu FT-857D ham radio in 2007!

Ham Radio: I hold US Extra Class license AF6AV. I have an Icom 746Pro at the shack feeding a G5RV wire antenna, and I have an FT-857D (with option remote mic and extension kit) with hamsticks in the car. Click the link in the Nav Bar for more.

Best Viewed at 800x600, or higher, screen resolution. The pictures will look terrible at anything less that 64,000 colors (16 bit) & 16 million colors (24 bit) is highly recommended for any web site with pictures.

We use Dreamweaver 8 Mac to maintain these sites. We also use Canvas 9.0 for graphics and font modifications, and Thorsten Lemke's excellent GraphicConverter 6.1 (sorry Bill-Borgs, Mac only) as our graphics Swiss Army knife--it's a great way to suck the contents off of our digital cameras and prep them for use.
